Youth And Concerning Health Issues
Youth and
Heart Attacks: Why Heart Attack Is Increasing in Young People
What
Is Heart Attack
A heart
attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is severely reduced or
blocked. The blockage is usually due to a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other
substances in the coronary arteries. The fatty, cholesterol containing deposits
are called plaques. Sometimes, a plaque can rupture and form a clot that blocks
blood flow. A lack of blood flow can damage or destroy part of the heart muscle.
A heart attack is also called a myocardial infarction.
SYMPTOMS
Prompt
treatment of a heart attack vary. Some people have mild symptoms. Others have
severe symptoms. Some people have no symptoms.
Common
Heart Attack Symptoms Include
· Chest Pain that may feel like
pressure, tightness, pain, squeezing or aching
· Pain or discomfort that spreads to
the shoulder, arm, back, neck, jaw, teeth or sometimes the upper belly
· Cold Sweat
· Fatigue
· Heartburn or indigestion
· Lightheadedness or sudden dizziness
· Nausea
· Shortness of Breath
Women may
have atypical symptoms such as brief or sharp pain felt in the neck, arm or
back. Sometimes, the first symptom sign of a heart attack is sudden cardiac
arrest.
Some heart
attack strike suddenly. But many people have warning signs and symptoms hours,
days or weeks in advance. Chest pain or pressure that keeps happening doesn’t
go away with the rest may be an early warning sign. Chest pain or pressure is
caused by a temporary decrease in blood flow to the heart.
CAUSES OF
HEART ATTACK
Coronary
artery disease causes most heart attacks. In this disease one or more of the
heart arteries are blocked. This is usually due to cholesterol-containing
deposits called plaques. Plaques can narrow the arteries, reducing blood flow
to the heart.
A heart
Attack may be caused by a complete or partial blockage of an artery. One way to
classify heart attacks is whether an electrocardiogram shows some specific
changes that require emergency invasive treatment.
Reason of
Heart Attack in youngsters
The
prevalence of coronary heart disease in young adults has slowly increased due
to smoking, obesity, lack of physical activity, and other reasons that put
pressure on the cardiovascular system.
(1) Poor Lifestyle Routine
Lack of physical activity, prolonged sitting hours in front of a laptop
or TV, excessive screen time, poor sleep habits, improper eating schedule

Today’s youth have no time to cook healthy food, unhealthy eating is on a
rise. Trans fats found in deep-fried foods, white bread, cookies cakes or
pastries raise the level of bad cholesterol. Bad cholesterol builds up lining
of blood vessels of the heart. This creates an obstruction that narrows the
passage and limits how much blood reaches the heart. This may eventually
trigger a heart attack or cardiac arrest.
Youth sometimes impress to others, or in social gatherings drink alcohol
or smoke excessively and become an addict. Excessive drinking and smoking
become the reason of heart diseases.

diabetes. Studies have found that the obesity rate in India is increasing more

expectations, financial insecurity in a volatile job market, distressing news
and social media abuse being rampant, the youth today do not have healthy ways
of dealing with stress. Chronic stress is dangerous for the body. It causes
unhealthy weight gain and high blood pressure. Undiagnosed hypertension damages
the arteries and lowers blood supply to the heart. In the absence of enough
blood, the heart muscles start degrading and eventually, this causes a heart
attack.
(5)
Diabetes
The incident rate of obesity is quite high in the youth and obesity
increases the risk of type 2 diabetes. Both diabetes risk factors for heart diseases.
